Hero

I came home late last night.. as i entered my room, my mom told me that the head of security of another village we lived in, was killed last night. It was all over the news. He was one of the first to know about the fire in their area.. and the first thing he did was go around to wake up all the neighbors and went back to his house to get his daughter.. sadly, they never came out alive : ( My mom told me he was the same guy who was run over twice last year. I thought, ang malas naman nya.. then I found out that the reason he was run over was because he rode his bicycle all the way from Pasay to Parañaque where he worked. Everyday. That was a long way to ride a bike. No wonder he risked being run over.. Poor guy.. I hate stories like these..they make me sad... but i think he's a person worth remembering. He's definitely a hero.. thinking of others before himself.. I'd like to do something for him..for such a kind soul like him.. but how? it's too late. He's gone. I feel he should've received the recognition he deserved for being such a good, loyal, hardworking person..but the irony in life is at play.. we find out about the kind of person he is when he's gone. I don't personally know him.. I don't remember if we have ever met. I may not have done anything to repay him for all the good he's done, but the least I can do is have him in my prayers....

YAHOO MESSENGER 101

This post is intended for people who are stupid enough not to know how a simple program like YAHOO MESSENGER works!

1. There is no possible way to have TWO VERSIONS of YAHOO MESSENGER in one PC. Have you ever installed or even uninstalled a program? From the looks of your statements, I take that as a NO. Don't worry, leave that to the IT people or to those who are not as intellectually challenged as you are-- I don't want your brain (if you have one) to go haywire when we attempt to to explain how to upgrade your current version of Yahoo Messenger!!!

2. Now this takes me to the second item I'd like to ponder on -- PROFILES!
whoa! how'd she do that??! she's sending me messages on her goddess of beauty YM ID at the same time I can buzz her on her O3 Isabelle ID??? Ok, please close your jaw and don't PANIC. That's what we call a PROFILE. For your reading and comprehension, here's an excerpt from YAHOO FAQ's:

What is a Yahoo Messenger Profile?

If you are using Yahoo Messenger With Voice, you have the option of using your Yahoo ID profile or creating up to five different profiles.

A Yahoo Messenger profile is a unique way of creating a short homepage to let people know information about you. By creating different profiles, you can select a different one while using Yahoo services. For example, if you are using Yahoo Messenger, you can create a business profile with information containing your business website and services offered by your company.

Another example would be to create a profile for your friends with information about your hobbies and a link to pictures of your family. Since you are allowed to create up to five additional profiles, they can be either personal or professional depending on your preference.

To create a Yahoo Messenger profile:

   1. Open your web browser and log onto the Yahoo Member Directory using your Yahoo ID and password.
   2. Click on View My Profiles, which is located at the top right hand side of the page. A new page will open and the next step is to click the Create A New Public Profile button. You will be allowed you to give each new profile a different name.
   3. You can also choose to expand your profile by filling as much personal information as you want, such as your occupation, marital status, and hobbies.
   4. Finish by clicking the <Create Profile> button located at the bottom of the page, and log out.

Your newly created profile is not permanent and can be edited by again logging onto the Members Directory page using your Yahoo ID and password and clicking <Edit> next to the profile you would like to change.

I have long been YM LITERATE (unlike some people I know)..way before I joined PS. When clients started asking for our YM ID's, I wanted my YM ID to be more professional, thus, My ISABELLE profile was born~!

3. Now, STEALTH SETTINGS (uhm, this may be too advanced for you-- I'm willing to give you free tutorial classes on this! I would hate to see you brain overheat!)

Stealth Settings and Privacy

Stealth settings provide you more control over your time, by allowing you to choose the people who see you as online and offline.

If you are IMing with a few people and don't want to be interrupted, you can use Stealth Settings to appear invisible to everyone except the people you want to talk to. If you want to go completely Stealth and hide from all your friends, you can use the "Invisible to Everyone" status message.

In example (1), you appear offline only to Becky and Jessica, and online to everyone else - so, only Becky and Jessica get italicized. In example (2), you selected "Invisible to Everyone" - now, every friend appears italicized.

Stop whining about things you don't understand -- That's probably the reason you're whining--you don't know a damn about what you're talkin' bout!
